Climate change
In recent years we have learned some disturbing facts about the world’s climate. Climatologists report that the world’s environment is undergoing significant changes.

Their report provides strong evidence that global temperatures are rising on a daily basis. This increase is due to the increase in the amount of carbon dioxide around the world. Most climate scientists agree that the greenhouse effect is the likely cause of this increase in global warming. The greenhouse effect is the gradual warming of the air around the Earth as a result of heat retention due to pollution. The main causes of global warming are carbon dioxide and pollutants such as methane and CFCs from burning fossil fuels and forests. Temperatures are expected to rise by up to 4 °C by the middle of this century, causing a drastic change in the global climate. It could catastrophically reduce humanity’s ability to produce food, severely damage wildlife and deserts, raise sea levels, and inundate coastal areas and farms. What worries us especially is that sea level rise may one day flood the bottom of our southern country. However, it is encouraging to see that world leaders have addressed this issue and come together to devise ways and means to tackle climate change.
